All men are created equal according to the American Declaration of independence. In the post 9/11 era many Americans armed with ignorance have contravened this immortal declaration taking upon themselves to judge Sikh men with turbans and beards as legitimate targets for hateful abuse and violence. As a Sikh man I have been on the receiving end of this. I was inspired by an editorial cartoonist’s creation who understood the Sikh predicament in the aftermath of 9/11 attacks. I have been creating cartoons since focusing on the fine line that separates contradictions from righteousness, lies from truth, inspiration from vanity, fear from ignorance.
